Hey guys! I had this as a dream so it might not be that good but that is ok. Give me your insight!
Prolouge
It is the year 2700, and not much has changed. We still have tvs. We still have four-wheeled cars. The we have run out of precious jewels and metals. Gold is gone. Silver has been extinct for 300 years. Diamonds are the most expensive jewel on the planet. The newest, hottest game is VF, Virtual Fighting. Players are facing each other in Vpods. There are various screens that show the play. Players feel the pain of a broken nose, without the broken nose in real life. Also, different creatures are allowed to be summond. The are in the for of chips, strengh indicating black X's at the back. There are two versions, One on one battles, or summon battles. You maybe wondering why I am telling you this. This is about a teenager named Joey who lives in this complex world. This is about the day he met a girl... that changed his life forever. So what do you think of the prolouge? Should I continue?

Ding dong The doorbell began to ring rapidly. " Hold on! I'll be ther in a second!"Annoyed, the teenager with spiked dirty-blonde hair ran down the wooden stairs. Almost slipping on the last one, he cursed himself. His startiling, emerarld-green eyes flashed in the light. "This better be good." He mumbled under his breath, then opened the beige wooden door. The boy's vision was instantly filled with sparkling streamers and his ears filled with loud, booming noises." AAAAHHH!" the boy took a steo back, tripped over the carpet, and landed on his butt, just in time to hear," Happy Birthday Joey!" Joey quickly recovered from the floor, slightly embarresed, and studied his three 'attackers.' There were three figures in the doorway, two boys and a girl. Both boys were about a head taller than Joey, the girl was the same size. She also had short brown hair and matching liquid-brown eyes. The tallest boy had blonde hair and soft, babyblue eyes. The third had warm brown eyes with wild, brown hair. Joey had identified them as soon as he saw there faces: Rachel Star, Ross Depty, and Justin Steel, his best friends. Post more later.

"I told you he would freak!" Rachel's voice quivered, barely able to contain the laughter Joey saw dancing in her eyes. " Oh excuse me, Miss. This-is-never-going-to-work!" Ross' voice was so thick with sarcasism, you could have cut it with a knife. " Are you going to let us in?" Justin asked, pushinf away his wild brown hair to wipe his fore head." It's hot out here." Rachel, who had been glaring at Ross, had her hands behind her back." I agree. Your cake is going to melt." " My cake?" Joey questioned, letting them in the cool, air-conditioned house. Rachel brought her hands from behind her back, revealing a white box." We got you your favorite icecream cake!" They all streamed into the kitchen to celebrate Joey Pladlin's 16th birthday. *********************************
They all leaned back in their chairs, nothing remaining in the open box except a few crumbs. Ross stood up. " Enough of this foolishness. Time for presents!" He pulled out a present from his bag and half, handed, half threw it to Joey. " Me and Justin decided to give you a split present." Joey unwrapped the present and stared at the cube in front of him. " Thanks! You got me a Cyber Cube! What games are there?" Joey looked around for the games, green eyes sparkling happily. " That would be my gift." Justin said proudly, and handed Joey a rectangular, badly wrapped present. " I wrapped it all by myself!" " Aww that's sweet Justin." Rachel smiled sweetly," Open it Joey, see what's inside!" Joey tore off the hanging paper and smiled broadly, showing his straight white teeth. " Doom dungeon 3! Adventures of a traveling ghost, and Animals r us! How did you know!" Joey laughed. He had the best friends! He thought back to when he only had one friend, Rachel, who was his friend since kindergarden. Then 17 year old Justin and Ross. Only two years ago they had been Joey's tormenters, bullies, if you will. But they had gotten along, and their friendship with Joey changed there nasty ways. Joey looked at Rachel, what were her gift be? *******************************************

(( i haven't done this in awhile...))
Joey was giving his presents an over look. Boy, did he love his friends. That was when Rachel stood up. " My turn!' She handed each of them an envelope. " For me? Oh you shouldn't have!" Ross snatched his looking at it from all angles. " What is it?" He ducked as Rachel took a swing at his head. Joey too looked quizzicly at the envelope. She was giving them all money? " Just open it!" Justin was already half way, fingers fumbling with the paper, as not to rip it. He would probably keep it and mail it to her later with a homemade card. Joey grinned at his thought and opened his. He couldn't beleive what he saw. As he ripped the thin paper, a sheet came out, fluttering as it fell, like a butterfly in the wind. It was a plane ticket. His eyes must have bulged because Rachel giggled. He looked up, seeing that everyone else held one. He gave a holler." Rachel! You are The best!" It probably took time for it to sink in for Ross and Justin, because only now they whooped. Joey looked in the envelope once more and saw a brouchure. To the rainforest. They foursome had always liked to travel together, but living in New York limited their travel abilities. Joey once went to Niagra falls in Canda, wher he saved Ross when he almost fell off the escarpment, but that was all. Now they were off to the Rainforest.

All of a sudden, Joey caught motion in the corner of his eye. He turned to the side and was just in time to stop a broomstick from hitting Ross square in the head. The attacker was an elderly old woman. Joey knew she was eighty years old , five foot one, and looked like a kind hearted robin. How? It was His gradmother. " You Leave my Joey alone! You hooligans think you can just take him away.. I think not!" Joey leapt to his feet," Gandma! It's Ross! My friend? Remember?" Ross looked around his arms that had been clumsily flailed up to protect his face. " Hey Grandma!" Ross spoke shakily, a hint of laughter in his voice. Grandma Pladlin had always asked for them to call her Grandma. Grandma put the broom down and put on the glasses that had been dangling from her neck on a cord. Her eyes grew twice their size and she looked more like an owl instead of a robin. " Oh hello children. Ross! You get taller every time I see you!" She smie at them and shuffeled over to the cubboard. " Would any of you guys like some cookies?" Joet had now figured that their whooping had startled Grandma awake. " No Thank-you Grandma. " The four friends chorused. " Grandma?" Joey asked tentivly," I am going to go away next week for seven days on a trip. Do you think you will be alright?" Joey was raised by Grandma ever since he was born. Now he had to take care of ehr in her old age. " Now don't you worry. I can take care of myself. You have fun a that trip." her voice was racked with age, but was pleasurable to listen to. Joey smiled. He was off to the rainforest!

The flare of head lights cut through the dense fog, a compact car racing across the seemingly desserted road. The driver was a male but his face was black and shadowy, no one able to identify it's feature. He looked over his shoulder. There was a woman in the back seat, in labour. " Ann?" The male voice was deep and dreamy as if in slow motion. " John!" The woman shreiked, her voice cutting through the dreamy silence. A horn blared, their was a wail of a baby, and the car swerved off the road, straight into a cemetary. The car had crashed into an elaborate head stone, and stopped violently. By some miracle, the baby survived, crying in the protective arms of his dead mother. The fog crept up on the vehicle on silent wings, creeping into the car in trendles. It filled the car, seeping into everything but hovered in a clear circle around the crying babe. A spark of light fell through the roof off the car, glowing and pulsing with a multitude of colors. The child stopped crying, and watched the spark with curiosity, shadowed, emerald green eyes following the bright light. "Calm, child," a deep voice emenated from the center of the light, "Calm... Joey." The babe Joey did nothing but stare. The voice continued,"Joey... I am you protecter, your conciler, your best friend... Joey..." "I" "Am" "Equinox" ...the new born baby... Joey... smiled... ( heres a good long one to chew ^^)
Joey awoke I cold sweat, bolting into a sitting up position. After his heart stopped dancing, he couldn’t help but smile. Equinox had a way of slinking around his dreams. He wiped a hand over his face, peeking through his fingers to peer at the alarm clock on his bed stand. 6:02. He sighed, ‘Better get up.’ He felt a certain tickle at his spine. He was too drowsy to take in the entire effect, but he knew why it was there. The Rainforest trip started today. As fingers flipped through clothes, double checking, Joey smiled into the darkness.
At no later than 6:30, all four friends were mashed in Ross’ car along with their suitcases. The plane, Rachel had informed them, was small and not exactly the exemplar of “comfy” but it would get them to their destination.
“At least,” Justin remarked,” We won’t have to deal with any other passengers.” Everyone smiled, knowing Justin could find the bright side of a hurricane. The sound of the foursome’s talking drowned out any other, including the sound of the rumbling engine.
When Ross finally switched the car off, it was 7:30, and everyone was very much awake, feeling excited, nervous and apprehensive at the same time. He four of them threw their stuff in the cargo hold. Then they all took their seats, chatting to pass the time as they waited for the pilot.
“I wonder if all the colors are as vibrant as everyone says they are.” Rachel was grinning from ear to ear, once again smoothing her brown hair in excitement.
If possible, Ross brightened even more. “I hear they have man-eating plants! If there is, I’m finding something to throw at it.” Laughter emanated from the plane as everyone cracked up.
“You’d be so scared you wouldn’t get within ten feet of it!” Joey laughed at Rachel’s remark, and again, when Ross, flicked her arm.
“Alright! Everyone ready to go?” A loud voice boomed from the open plane door. Joey nearly jumped at the suddenness of it, but recovered quick enough to break the silence that had suddenly blanketed the room.
“Very ready sir” Joey always addressed adults in that manner; Grandma Pladlin drummed that into him when he was small, verbally of course. She would never ever hurt him. ’People value curtsey Joey, never forget that.’ He could almost hear her voice speak those words in his head. The man was short, his round stomach hidden by a bulging plaid shirt. He bared yellowed teeth into a smile, brushing back brown and grey-laced hair. Everyone nodded vigorously, pitching in their agreement.
“Yes, sir.” Rachel beamed.
“Yeah!” Ross blurted to excited to say anything else.
“Totally ready!” Justin replied, then after thinking a moment added,” Sir.”
The pilot gave a loud, grating laugh, and Joey swore he saw Rachel cringe. Before he could smile in agreement, Pilot spoke again in his boisterous voice.
“What fire, polite passengers I have today! Well we will taking off anytime now so put on ‘yer seatbelts and we’ll be on our way!” Pilot pushed the curtain back, and then closed it behind him. Rachel, Ross, Joey, and Justin complied with enthusiasm. Ross had a hard time with his seat belt and every laughed and joked at him. It was then that the engine roared to life and the plane rolled down the runway.
Seconds later, they began gaining altitude, their faces pressed against the window like excited children, which, they kind of were. When they pried their eyes from the landscape, they excitedly chattered. Everyone was talking about something different, and nobody heard what the other was saying, but they were talking just for the sake of talking. Joey decided to stop talking and try and listen to his friends babble. He was indescribably happy. He relaxed, emerald eyes watching the ground outside. Not ground, he realized, but water. Endless, rolling, grey-blue water. The late night and early morning caught up with him, and he closed his eyes his now heavy eyes. He fell into a comfortable sleep, his frriends’ soft conversation waving into and out of his mind.
He was jolted awake when his head hit the glass beside him. Head ringing, he leapt to his feet. Rachel, Ross and Justin were struggling with the open plane hatch, while the plane slowly, but surely, descended. He leapt past them just as they closed the door, grabbing at the controls. The plane was in a steep dive now, heading for empty water. Ross and Justin rushed to help Joey and Rachel let out a loud current of curses.” The bloody pilot just leapt out of the plane! WITH THE ONLY PARACHUTE!” The guys looked at each other, and pulled harder on the control. But it seeming refused to budge. They were so close, he could see the waves on the water. Joey felt something like a shockwave, and all of a sudden, and a small island was visible. He almost let go out of surprise and confusion, but his hands remained clamped. Rachel leapt forward and they all heaved with all the strength. The plane lifted so fast it jerked Joey to the ground. Temporary relief flooded him, but it was short lived. The last thing he heard was Rachel’s shriek. Because at that moment….they collided with the island.

Joey’s head felt like it had split in two. He lay sprawled in front of the plane, the windshield shattered from four teenagers passing through it. Without getting up, he managed to moan, “Who’s not dead?” In response three groans met his ears, two from his side, and one from above him. Joey struggled to sit up, straining muscles screaming in protest. He gritted his teeth, and managed to pull himself up. The sand underneath him shifted and he listed to the side. He turned his sore neck to his left to find Ross and Justin. Justin sat cross legged, Ross lying down, but both of them were trying to wipe the sand out of their eyes. The lose sand helped Joey shift to see Rachel knelling, finger combing handfuls of yellow sand out of her short hair. She looked over at him and gasped.
“Joey! You’re hurt!” Joey wrinkled his forehead, feeling resistance. With a nerve shaky hand, he reached up gingerly touched his aching forehead. Hardened blood crumbled off his skin. He looked down at a large shard of glass that lay beside him, discovering a good-sized bruise on the right side of his forehead, a shallow cut in the center of it. Crusted blood smeared everywhere around the wound.
“Everyone is hurt Rachel.” But he still saw anxiety in her chocolate eyes and he swiftly added, “It’s not as bad as it looks.” Rachel also had small cuts on her arms and legs.
“Here.” Justin held a hand out to Joey, who took it, and helped him struggle to his feet. Ross did the same with Rachel. Joey looked around, examining the damage that was done. The plane was a total mess. The nose had completely crumpled inwards, and the wings looked like giant metal pretzels. Joey shuddered thinking about it. They were lucky to be alive. Justin and Rachel looked the most well-off, only small cuts on their arms and legs. Other than the cut on his head, Joey was in reasonably good shape. Ross’ arms were littered with cuts and he walked with a slight limp.
“You going to be okay?” Joey nodded in the direction of Ross’s foot. He shrugged.
“It doesn’t seem like it’s broken, almost like when you step on it.” That was the end of conversation. For what the group guessed was the next two hours, they spent cleaning themselves up.
“We don’t know if there is any safe water to drink on the Island,” Rachel had held the water bottles away from Ross’ reaching hands, “So you’re going to have to use the ocean water to wash off the blood guys.” They all grunted an agreement. The salt water was cold and stung Joey’s eyes after what it seemed like burning his cut. Joey had a certain tolerance to pain, being the top VF player at their High School. Justin gave a wince of sympathy as a wave engulfed Rachel’s entire arm, causing her to cry out in alarm. By the time they got out of the ocean, they were soaked. Everyone took turns going into the ruined plane, using what little shelter they had left to change.
When everyone sat down on the beach, wounds dressed and nerves calmed, the sun was quite low in the sky. Everyone sat there for a moment, listening to the thundering waves pound the golden beach, only to come close enough to kiss their toes. They bathed in the rapidly fading light. It was quite warm. The plane must have veered to an island close to the equator. Joey closed his eyes to listen to the music of the Island. The torrent of water, the wind rustling the palm trees. It seemed as if he could hear the very clouds drifting on their pedestal of air. A soft voice cut through his relaxation, although it sounded as relaxed as he felt.
“We should get a camp going, guys. It will be dark in a couple hours. Oh yeah. Does anyone have a watch? Mine’s broken.” Joey could hear the sand whisper as Rachel got up to stand. It figures, she is very organized and would think of a thing like shelters and time.
“Nope.”
“Nuh, uh.” Ross and Justin answered at the same time, both seemingly proud they had no watch. They never worried about time the way Rachel did Justin being as mellow as he is and Ross being as lazy. The pair grinned at each other, before reclining into the sand. Joey smiled, eyes still closed. He lazily opened an emerald eye, his gaze drifting to the wrist with his watch on it. It wasn’t even there.
“Mine must have been torn off when we went through the grass.” His voice sounded detached, as if it belonged to another person. The thick heat soothed Joey’s aching mind and body, lulling him into a sense of security. As if everything was alright, and they weren’t stranded on a deserted island. He could almost hear Grandma Pladlin singing him to sleep, like she did when he was small. But her voice was much more real than it should have been, and so sweet it was hard to resist. He could also hear what the floating, seductive was saying, whereas he never heard coherent words with Grandma’s song. Joey tried to get out of this sleepy, dream state, but found himself trapped in the enticing words,
“The siren sings so sweetly,
that she lulls sea-men to sleep;
then she climbs upon the ships
and throws the sea-men in the deep”
As Joey struggled against the luring music he heard Rachel’s almost subconscious voice. He couldn’t make out what she was saying, but it sounded urgent and worried. Joey felt his will ebb away, and his mind began to drift into a deep, sweet sounding sleep… [/center]
