I HATE BLACK FRIDAY SALES! I'm sorry but it's gone way WAY to horrible/ridiculous. I just can't believe that a handicapped Walmart worker in New Jersey was trampled to death but the chaoitic crowd. COME ON! Nothing in that store is ever worth something like that! I wish that something could be done about it. I wish that the Black Friday sales could end and stop the insanity. How about majory internet sales? There is a cyber monday anyway. And last year when the new Playstation 3's came out there was a pregnaunt lady that went into labor but wouldn't go to the hospital until she got her Playstation 3. It's still not as bad as that poor man that was killed from the rush.

I disagree, in a way. People are struggling now more than ever if you haven't noticed. We're in a recession and our economy really needs people to be buying right now. More people buy, the more people the stores higher, which means the less people homeless and without a job. We really needed black Friday to give the economy a jump-start.
As for the person that trampled over the guy in Long Island outside of the Walmart, that is just plain despicable, and all of those unruly people there should be ashamed. I believe there is a lawsuit going on, but I haven't heard much else. REALLY, you can't blame a couple dollars off on a dvd or a sweatshirt on the death of a Walmart employee. Its selfish and inconsiderate people who did it. And that pregnant women is just a moron.

It just makes me so mad...Christmas has lost it's meaning. All it is about anymore is material things these days. The magic and the joy, happiness to spend time with family is gone. Now that I see what it's really like, I don't even know if I like Christmas anymore...*walks of tail drooping*.

Christmas is the celebration of God giving his only son, Jesus Christ, to us so he could die on the cross and rise again to forgive us our sins. Atheists, Jews, Pagans, etc. now celebrate it as an excuse to give each other gifts randomly on December 25th. Nothing has lost its meaning. Maybe it's lost its meaning for all of the people who don't believe in Christ our savior, it has. But then again, what was the meaning for them in the first place?
Where they even buying Christmas presents? From there other actions, I bet they were just buying stuff for themselves...

It might not have lost it's meaning to you, and yes I know all about that god stuff. (I used to bwe a Christian.) But me not being a Christian anymore has nothing to do with me losing the feeling, its just how I see everybody else going CRAZY. Some people may still celebrate Christmas the way it was intended to be celebrated. But I still think that Black Friday has gotten way out of control. And they could do different things like separating the sales so the rush isn't quite so bad. That alone could have saved that poor handicapped man a few days ago. But people fighting, kicking, screaming, stomping over other people doesn't exactly show me that people are thinking of God this Christmas.

Exactly, they aren't. Shame on them for being so impolite, ignorant, and inconsiderate. But I'm sure they came to there senses after they had realized what had happened, and how idiotic they were acting.

Actually Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth, Easter and Good Friday are the celebration days of Jesus giving his life for us the present giving and Santa Claus derived from Saint Nicholas who used to sneak down chimneys into people's houses and put food and coins in their stockings (which would be hanging by the fireplace to dry). Overtime people started to mispronounce the name over and over and it became Santa Claus. Though I'm not sure how the two (Jesus' birth and St. Nicholas) got mushed together. Black Friday started because one Thanksgiving a long time ago some expert salesman guy died of a heart attack and the next day his store and the majority of the other stores around there all wore black to commemorate him and cut their prices for a day (probably just that one store cut their prices and then the other stores were like, "Hey what the heck! Now our stuff isn't getting bought!" and lowered their prices too). It is rather ridiculous that people get so out of control with things but it just happens. Plus the stores wouldn't want to separate out the sales because then if their competition had a sale before they did, they wouldn't get their profit, their competition would. It is indeed tragic though
