I don't have an opinion on abortion right now because there's too many "what if.." situations and when things get that complicated I just don't make a decision, although once I'm allowed to vote I'll need to make that decision. Just for that particular situation, where if the mother was dying and she wanted to live and have another kid instead of dying and having the child live without a mother, I would side with Obama there. I can definitely see your point on how it adds up, I tried to find an updated tax chart but I couldn't find one. Thinking back on what McCain's tax plans were though I'm still for Obama because yeah it's great that McCain was going to lower everyone's taxes, but he was lowering EVERYONE'S taxes and we still have to pay for things in this country. I mean it's fine to have debt, every country does, but we already have over 10 trillion in debt and I'd rather not make it a whole lot more than that. At least McCain could have lowered some and kept others the same rather than lower all of them.
Why can't there ever be anyone inbetween? I mean seriously! lol

Well, if you ever decided that you just can't choose whether your pro-life or pro-choice, that's okay. You don't have to like everything that a candidate likes. And yes, I do feel that there are certain situations where abortion is the only choice like if the mom or the baby or both were to die. But the majority of me is pro-life. There are exceptions to everything. To be honest, a lot of people think of McCain as more democratic anyway because of some of the things he voted for/against. But there have been ideas of only having one tax of 10% of your Salary which is really a great idea. 10% is all that is really needed and even God only asked for 10%. But the government takes much more than that (don't have an estimate for you, sorry). They have tried to send a bill through Congress in the pass but it failed. But I do love how we can have a good conversation about this topic on here. To many people that I talk to about political stuff start arguing.

If 10% of everyone's pay was taxed, then the goverment wouldn't have enough money to function. And if the gov doesn't haven enough money, we don't get social security, education, armed forces, the list goes on and on, for the national government. Who do you think plows the roads? Builds streets and bridges? Make's sure that you have your rights? Pays teachers? This is were tax money goes. The fact is, we NEED taxes, because without them, as a nation we'd calaspe. You guys don't know the value of a dollar. People making 200,000 dollars a year are pretty dang wealthy if you talk to an adult, who knows what he/she is talking about. Heck, in economics class I lived off 50,000 dollars and I had a lot of money in my savings account for the future! And its going up 12 DOLLARS. That's it. Compare that to a pair of pants at abercrombie and fitch? Yeah. About 85% less than a one pair of jeans. And someone making 200,000 dollars a year probably shops at all designer stores. -___-

I do agree with fallen on that point because my family makes 48,000 a year approx and we have a boat, a camper, 5 cars (well technically 3 because one is in the process of being fixed and the other was ours for a while before my sis took it to college, and the broken one and another were given to use, but we still had to pay some towards them). Not to mention a two story house and my sis is in college and I'll be going to college soon (of course I'm not saying that we have enough to pay for more than a year of college, but anyway) so those who make twice as much as I think would be doing pretty well. There are certain variables that can make things more expensive like location, but even so, it's three times my income and up that's getting taxed a small amount. Well I don't know how to gauge the very wealthy in comparison to that because 700,000 is a lot of money but then again so it 2.9 mil and up

We don't need higher taxes, the government needs to spend less. The government has been getting along just fine on the taxes that were being paid and yes the national debt is high but it was bound to go up. Yes there's a lot of good things that come out of government spending but there are a lot of places were money is being paid that is unneccesary and unneeded. And the democrats try to say that taxes will only go up for the rich but somehow when Clinton was in office my parents' taxes went up and 20,000 a year is in no way of being considered rich. Putting more money in the people's pockets is how the economy will do better, not raising taxes so the government will get more money because they will just spend more and more of it.
