GhostFlare's History
As a kit, GhostKit was a very bright, optimistic cat. He always expected praise and very often got it, for he was well-behaved and kind to his den-mates and especially the medicine cats. He always loved the medicine cats for what they do for the clan and how much they help. He is still very close to the medicine cats of RiverClan today: SpiritFire and SparrowFlight.
When he became an apprentice, GhostPaw was ecstatic. Until he met the most rotten, vile cat he’d ever met in his life. And the most beautiful she-cat he’d ever known. Her name was CliffPaw, and she was everything GhostPaw had ever looked for in a she-cat. He wanted to spend his life with her and have beautiful kits and get old with her and die with her. But as fate would have it, she felt the opposite toward him. His enthusiastic attitude turned her off. In fact, she found it quite unbearable and obnoxious. Because of this, GhostPaw toned it down. And down. And down, until there was not much left of it. The remainder of his excitement for life died along with CliffPaw when she lost her life to a fox that had wandered into RiverClan’s territory.
Currently, as a warrior, GhostFlare has yet to change. He wants to be fun and optimistic, he really does. But he doesn’t think he can. Every time he tries to show some happiness or tell someone that everything is going to be okay, he can’t bring himself to. A cat could come along and change that some day, but he doesn’t think anyone ever will. Typical.
HorizonKit's History
The small white kit was the only kit in the litter, but that was enough for Arrowheart, a kind, loving queen of WindClan and Horizonkit's mother. To her, the single kit was a blessing, although Horizonkit never felt like much of a blessing. Arrowheart never talked about who Horizonkit's father was, only that he was an amazing tom. From what the kit can gather from other stories, the two cats had been madly in love. But then, for some reason, her father vanished one night. Arrowheart never spoke of him again...not even his name. It seemed to pain her mother for some reason, so the white kit never brought up the forbidden topic. But however much she denies it, her father is the reason her self esteem is so low. Of coarse the other cat's are part of the reason she's the way she is, but her father is the main reason behind all of her doubts. Secretly, Horizonkit plans to find her father one day. She doesn't know how she'll even recognize him, but that's not going to stop her. Horizonkit will find out the reason he left and why she wasn't important enough for him to stay.
Her mother died one day from a leaf bare freeze, trying to keep her only kit warm. Horizonkit was devistated because now she was alone...no father and now no mother. Horizonkit didn't talk to anyone for the longest time, still in shock. But even though she didn't talk to anyone, others would come to her and offer their condolences. So slowly, she began to recover from her mother's passing. This was why she's so keen to help others- because they helped Horizonkit in her time of need. She feels like she should do the same for them; that she owes them. Other cats know to avoid the topic of her mother at all costs, because now it is a forbidden topic as well. Although she has slowly began to accept the fact that her mother is gone, Horizonkit still looks up into the stars some nights, hoping that Arrowheart is up there looking down upon her.
RoseMist's History
Pre-Kithood
Her mother, Angeldream was positively in love with her father, Faintnight, although he didn't really return the favor at first. Angeldream was a sheltered kittypet turned loner when she set her deep blue eyes on Faintnight. For her, it was love at first sight. For the black and silver pelted warrior, it took longer. But when Faintnight finally came around to see the lovely white-and-ginger she-cat for the beauty that she was inside and out, he padded after her like a love-sick puppy, almost never leaving her. The two kept the love outside of ShadowClan for a long time, not telling anyone save for a friend or two on either side. But, on a fateful day, a band of loners, Angeldream's friends and family, invaded ShadowClan for prey, since it was slow running on their side. Horrified, both Faintnight and Angeldream watched from their own sides, not leaping into the fray with the rest. After all of the loners were chased off, Faintnight took a leap into the unknown, and invited Angeldream into the Clan. The older warrior looked so happy with his mate that no one wanted to tear the two apart. So finally, their love was public, and they were never seen without the other. Only when more grey crept into Faintnight's fur, and Angeldream's pelt lost some of it's white radiance did the pair decide to have kits. By now, Angeldream was almost completely blind, for hereditary cataracts had taken hold. So, after the kits were born, Angeldream only got to see her kits for three moons before she went completely blind.
Kithood
Since Angeldream couldn't support the kits, being blind, old, and frail, she passed the kits off to separate mothers, splitting them up. Rosemist went to a gentle old pushover of a cat, Sunflower, who nurtured the kit almost incessantly. Silentnight and Gentlewhisper went to a stricter family, together. However, the kits of ShadowClan while Rosemist was growing up were more of a family all together than individual friends, so she didn't mind being nursed and cared for by separate mothers than her brothers. Faintnight still looked after his kits from afar, green eyes proudly taking part in all the firsts of his kits. Because of this, Rosemist grew into a Daddy's girl. All together, the kits of ShadowClan overran the nursery, and got into trouble. United we stand, divided we fall seemed the motto. However, there was one incident which ended the many adventures of the kits, of which one kit got into a tangle with a snake. Upon being bitten, the tiny kit looked even more pale than she usually did, and the poison started to take hold. Yet, none of the kits were willing to let go of their friend, so the male kits fought back the snake, the female kits kept Palefeather alive, and Rosemist ran, legs flying, to get Streamglow. With the conbined efforts of all the kits, only a small part of Palefeather's tail was lost to the snake, instead of a friend. After this, guards were put in front of the nursery, and the adventures ended.
Apprenticeship
Rosemist was given to a much stricter mentor than she had had experience with before, possibly because her leader thought she had to be watched because of her adventures as a kit. However, she took it in good stride, and never failed to please Bitterherb with her antics. However, her mentor was slightly disappointed in her fighting prowess, because it was less than desired. But over time, she learned to hold her own in battle, and the focus returned to her hunting, one of her great passions. The electrical surge that she got once she took the life of the prey in front of her, thanking StarClan for the luck, that was as good as it got, or so she thought. It was during this time that her mother, Angeldream, who had been getting on in years, had died, surrounding by friends and family. Rosemist, Silentnight, Gentlewhisper, and especially Faintnight fell into a depressed stupor of sorts, not really taking joy in anything. Silentnight and Gentlewhisper engrossed themselves in their training, while Rosemist, nearly done, found herself running and hunting even more for her Clan. Bitterherb trained her more and more in fighting, giving her something to relieve stress, but it was another moon before she was made a warrior, for unknown reasons.
Warriorhood
It was just after she was made a warrior, literally right after the ceremony when her father, holding in his grief over his dead mate, finally left the earth, having seen all of his kits through their ceremonies. Still sad, but at once relieved, if that makes sense, Rosemist, her two brothers, and the 'band' of kits from her childhood helped them press forward. However, relationships drifted apart, and they weren't as close as they used to be. Almost from a distance, Rosemist watched her Clan grow and develop, comparing them all to a flower, blooming after the rainstorm. Gentlewhisper, however, came to her with a dark secret one day. He, like his own father, had found love in a loner, and instead of bringing her into the Clan, he decided to leave. There was too much loss and pain in a Clan, he said. Their parent's deaths had taken a lot out of the soft-hearted warrior. So, sadly, she kissed another family member good-bye, tears in her eyes. She wanted to get closer to Silentnight, but he had found a mate of his own, in the Clan luckily, before being killed by a ThunderPath monster. She kept her faith in StarClan, however, and devoted herself to the Clan, for eternity.
