Names

This is basically for those who havn't read the series.

Kit Names;
All kit names end in well.. Kit. Thus: No warrior name can end in kit. The first part is an adjective (this will be explained better in the basic warrior name section)

Ex: FireKit.

You wouldn't use the whole warrior name before adding kit.

Ex2: You wouldn't say Fireheartkit.


If you used to be a loner/rouge/kittypet, your leader will choose your kit name. (well, the first part)

Apprentice Names:
All apprentice names and in Paw, so no Warrior name ends in paw. Medicine cat apprentices often keep their -paw ending longer than most, as they don't choose a 'warrior' name until the death of the previous med. cat.

Example: Firekit would Become Firepaw.

I wouldn't say Firekitpaw or Fireheartpaw. This can be confusing sometimes, but if your name is made up of two parts as it should be, then you baically keep the First and change the last. When your apprentice upgrades to a Warrior, he will be chosen an ending by the leader. Your Leader also has the power to change your name entirely if it does not fit. (Book example: Lost Face --> BrightHeart)

Basic Warrior Name:
A warrior name usually consists of an adjective followed by a noun. Although, in the English language you'll find that almost anthing can become an adjective, even running (that is a running horse or something like that...). The nouns are often body parts, like tail or ear or claw, but also can be things like heart and soul and shadow.

Silverpelt is Starclan I think... Don't use it! It's the stream of stars in the night.

Example: Firepaw --> Fireheart

Deputy Names:
The warrior name doesn't change when upgraded to deputy.

Leader Names:
The leader name follows the same as kit and apprentices, only ending in -star instead. You keep the first part of your name.

Ex: Fireheart would be upgraded to Firestar.

If you are a leader and join starclan, then you keep the ending star, same as for kits, but if an apprentice dies just before a ceremony, I THINK they can recieve their warrior name, but otherwise it is kept. Warriors keep the same name too.

Elder Names:
I doubt anyone will sign up as an elder, but....
Elders names stay the same as a warrior, although they CAN change like a normal warrior because of any triats that have happened.

Ex: Say Fireheart brok a foot... paw permanently in battle. Maybe when retiring to an Elder state, He could be called Deadfoot (haha!) But not Deadpaw.

Loners:
If once of a clan and decided to leave without being banished (making you a loner) You often keep the name you left with.
Example: Ravenpaw left Thunderclan at an Apprentice age, but kept his apprentice name anyway, he has never taken a warrior name though he is near the same age as Fire... Heart for now.

Rouges:
If born a rouge they can take names siilar to kittypets, but more sinister. Or they could take a warrior name to. If they were banished, they could change their name to sound sinister, or keep it.

Example: Fireheart was banished. He could be called Fireheart still. or change his name to something mean like because Fireheart sounds kinda nice.... Like Simply Fang, or Longtooth.

Ex2: Fireheart was born a rouge. His parents cold call him Fireheart/kit (no paws or stars) or they could name him Fang(kit) or LOngFang/tooth/kit

KittyPets:

Kittypet names are often similar to loner and rouges, but never are warrior like, though some may dream of becoming a warrior and claim themselves with a warrior name, but will have a true kittypet name of something else. These usually are soft unless you are a kittypet to some rambounctios freak that named you Fang.

Ex: Fireheart's Kittypet name might be Rusty, as his pelt is the color of rust, a soft ginger. He could also be called Ginger, but that is a more female kittypet name. Another kittypet example might be Tiger, spice, or Princess.

Positions[/b]

This is basically for those who havn't read the series.

In the Clans:[/u]

Leaders- The leader of the clan, as the title proclaims. They are able to recieve messages from star clan and travel to Moonstone to acclaim this position, recieveing nine lives as well. If you are banished from your clan or no longer able to serve leaderposition, your nine lives stay with you, or however many you have left if they are not all gone.
Deputies- The next level from leaders, and are like the assistant. They recieve no special powers from Starclan, but set up patrols and hunting parties and things.
Medicine Cat- Skilled in the knowledge of herbs and healing, they also recieve special powers to get ommens from starclan and strange prophecies. Their denb also houses the injured. They too get an apprentice and must travel to Moonstone, though do NOT get nine lives.
Medicine cat Apprentice- Usually a job left to those without ability to be a warrior, though doesn't have to be that way. They remain apprentices longer than most cats becuase they are such until their mentor (the previous med. cat) dies. They will then travel to mooonstone and take a warrior name. They are trained a little bit in battle, but mostly in herb uses and collecting.
Warriors: Warriors are the basis of the clan. They collect prey and go hunting and on patrol and fight to protect their clan. Most will recieve an apprentice to train. Warriors also can be promoted to higher levels, but canNOT become Medicine cats nor Apprentices, and obviously not kits. They can go to the gathering when the Leader requests them to and can be banished like all the other cats to become Rouges. They also can become Loners, but usually can't return back to being a warrior after that.
Warrior Apprentice- When a kit reaches 6 moons of age it will partake in a ceremony to start its apprenticeship. He/She will recieve a mentor which is usually a warrior, but can be the deputy or Leader. They are trianed for battle and hunting and stealth.
Queens: Expecting or Nursing she-cats. You MUST be a warrior to become a queen! Other Queenly info is in the mating form and rules. Names of these she-cats do not change at all and they remain Queens until their kits become apprentices.
Elders: Cats that are to old to battle retire to elders. They often tell interesting stories to the young apprentices and kits. Elders do fight in emergency cases but are very weak because of their age.
Kits: young cats that have not yet become apprentices. of 0-6 moons. They stay in the nursery with their mother, though as they get older may run out to the marsh. Sometimes when they shouldn't...

Out of Clans[/u]

Loners: Cats that usually live alone and are not part of a clan. Sometimes they go in small groups (Barley and Ravenpaw) but rarely. They could have left their clan by choice or be a stray kittypet or be born a loner.
Rouges: Banned cats or cats born to two rouges or a loner and rouge, or a clanner and rouge. Also, if your kit runs away and meets up with a rouge, instead of killing, it may teach your kit to be a rouge instead. Rouges are usually vicious creatures, seperating them off frmo the loners. They often want to destroy the clans, or just like killing. Some rouges are more loner like, but were born or raised by rouges so they keep that title.
KittyPet: Kittypets are basically just house-cats living with two-legs or srays that do not travel in or near clan territory, but in towns and allys. Clanners, and even out of clan cats, dispise kittypets as much as twolegs, but some kittypets wish to be out with the clans. Sometimes it can be hard to fit in...[/color]
