For years, the warrior cats of the forest have lived on, passing down their kits, children, and making descendants. Life was peaceful and easy, plenty of prey, even in leafbare. Starclan was generous, giving Leaders and Medicine Cats they're hopeful dreams. Until now.
Now, Starclan is silent. In Shadowclan Leader Willowstar's latest dream with Starclan, Drownstar, leader of Starclan, mentions his children. In Riverclan, Sunstar deals with her own problems, while Fallonstar of Thunderclan is scarcely seen, and Dreamingstar of Windclan gets accustomed to her small clan. The clans are silent, prey becomes scarce, and fear ripples around every tree, bush, and pawstep. A new terror is rising in the forest, and it's up to the clan cats to stop it.
