(Jesus Speaking) "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5 The verse above is saying that God will never leave you, even if you feel like He's abandoned you, he hasn't. This devotion is about God's presence, and Psalm 23:4 says, "Yea, though I walk through he valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Meaning that God is the ultimate comfort. Even though you may be struggling really bad if you pray to Him or ask someone to pray for you, I guarantee you'll start to feel better. I have experienced comfort in praying many times, such as when I couldn't fall asleep, I had been awake for 2 or 3 hours just lying in bed and I was really tired and frustreated. I prayed to God and imagined Him holding me like I was His kid and I fell asleep. And multiple times I have prayed to God when I was feeling bad about the way I looked or how my social life was falling apart in front of me, but then I remembered the He would give me new friends, better friends, friends that I wouldn't have to put up a false front for. Now to what the title of this devotion is about. Have you ever felt like you've had a empty feeling, a missing piece? and when you try to fill it in with something you're sure it's going to fill it, it's still there? The only thing that can fill that hole is God. Even myself as a Christian I will still feel that emptyness sometimes, I'll try to fill that space with thinking of having a boyfriend, or haveing a better body. I then remember that God can only fill it, and pray and it goes away, suddenly I just feel so full and, like, pleasent, lol. I have one more thing I want to touch on. Praying, a lot of people are intimidated by people who pray all saintly and everything, I am too, but you don't have to have all this way meaningful stuff in your prayer, it can be simply a breath prayer. A breath prayer is a prayer that lasts about a breath or two, like saying, "Please heal my dad's hip," or something. I would love to tell more about praying, but I think I'll save that for my next devotion. I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I also hope I toched some of your hearts. If you want to be prayed for you can PM me or post in the Prayer chain. Next time :: Prayer

So basically you are saying that I can post here any prayer that I want??Im not sure because I have just started to be a full christian, as in like I have always belived that god shaped everyones path but I havent like, worshiped him on a regular basis. I dont usually pray, but that was before my grandma died and I prayed that if she was okay, to send me some kind of sign to tell me and my dad, like a rainy day. And the next day, it was raining! I couldnt belive it but now I know that she is okay and Im sorry that I never spent that much time with her. But thats off the subject, so you mean that I can post here and say, "Please help my grandma make it through her after life" or something like that?

Silverstorm, I know this isn't what you're asking exactly, but can I just say somthing (Oh, and yes, the prayer is all God needs to here). You don't HAVE to worship God to be saved. You don't HAVE to go to church to be saved. You don't HAVE to do anything except believe that Jesus died for you. All the other stuff, you GET to do. I love to lay in bed at night and sing praise songs in my head or pray in a whisper, because I know He loves to hear me...loves to have be confide in him. Sorry, I meant it to be short and sweet, but anyway, hope I helped a bit.

GAVE UP! Your crazy. You have to believe Jesus will answer your prayers. And I am with maple as always. Agreed with sleet also. You have to believe jesus is the son of god and he came to save us from our sins.
Nice versus maple.

Right on Dapple, but don't go with Maple, go with Jesus, lol. Kidding, I know what you meant. Sometimes prayers just don't get answered the way you want. When you get to heaven, you'll know why

God has a plan for everything and he doesn't answer some prayers as you want it. Maybe in the future it will come true but you have to be patient. (the friuts of the spirit. I did a skit on that at retreat)

May i ask, why don't you want to believe in heaven, it's somthing to look forward to you whole life. What is one thing you want most in the world? (examp: a horse)

one thing i want most in the world? i could want anything peace, tranquility. well what i want is war. a large world war to determine who is the most powerful country int eh world, One where everyone could die within seconds. that way everyone could get what they deserved, everyone is cruel at least once in their life, i am, so are you, so we should all get what we deserve, die fighting to prove ourselves.

Umm but your right about us being cruel. But once you ask for forgiveness from God then he forgets about what you have done and loves you for a new person. You need to repent to god about all those thing.

Blue I would really like it if you would read my next one on prayer, it would really help you understand why it might take a little while for things to get answered. And SilverStorm I'll pray for you g-ma, you can post that in the prayer chain sub board if you want to. Also that is so cool that he showed you by it raining! I mean that's awesome! I've never experienced something quite like that, that's pretty cool.

I beleive in God, and Jesus, and praying, and Heaven, and all of that, and as I can see, so do most of you. But as for Blue, you guys can't make him beleive or praise God. He made his own choice, and being Christians, we should accept that. I don't know about you guys, but I live in a community where many of the people aren't white and aren't Christian, and I even live around a few Athiests. No one has to believe or worship. Everyone makes the choice sooner or later and our world has trouble accepting it. We've been so affected by Europe and America's past, that we forget that there are other people in this world and we don't live in a place where everyone goes to church, where everyone prays, where everyone worships God. We do not have the place to tell Blue what to do. If Blue doesn't want to praise, he doesn't have to.

Leopardfur, I think there isn't a problem with Bluepaw reading this. Curiousity.
Me, I suppose I believe in god and heaven and all, but I don't go to church or anyhting. My grandparents....they're REALLY religious, and sometimes it feels like they're trying to 'convert' me, so I sort of stay away from religion.

It's ok. Sooner or later...but you don't have to so what these guys say. But, also, reading it might do you some good. You should have a little faith, even if it's not in God or your religion. Have faith in yourself.
