Standing on the edge of morning
Scent of boom and New Found Glory
Playing as she's pulling back her hair
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kuragari threw on some clothes for the day and stood in front of her mirror to fix her hair. She pulled it back into a low ponytail, tying it neatly in the back and let her bangs fall over one eye. She took a deep breath and prepared for another day with the one she hated, the one she loved.
Her boyfriend Kabuto. Again, she breathed deeply and stepped out the door and walked to his house. It was a nice day for walking, bright and sunny. The sunlight would hit her face just right and make her glow at certain times. But it was dark and grim for her. She hated this place.
---------------------------------------------------
She drives away
She's feeling worthless
Used again but nothing's different
She'd stay the night
But knows he doesn't care
---------------------------------------------------
She walked back home after their visit, hoping no one could see the bright red bite marks on her neck and collar bone. Her head hung low and her eyes studied her pace. A faint glimmer of desperation and need showed in her eyes, even though Kabuto had gotten what he “needed” from her. She still wasn’t satisfied.
Kabuto asked her to stay with him that night, but only so he could abuse her in the same ways the next day. She refused and he showed not a bit of sadness that she didn’t want to be with him. Much yelling followed her decision, though, so he was obviously angry.
And the physical was all that mattered to him. Emotions didn’t count, probably because he had rid himself of them when he joined the Sound. That’s probably why Kuragari was so different from the rest. She actually cared. She needed things that no one else needed. Love, affection and friendship. And no one was able to give that to her.
---------------------------------------------------
Home by three
Deafening quiet
The porch light’s off
Yes, they forgot it
She’d cry herself to sleep
But she don’t dare
---------------------------------------------------
Kuragari quietly closed the door behind her and snuck quietly into her room so that her father wouldn’t notice she had left. She flicked the light switch and crawled into bed, holding back tears that had been building up since birth. She’d love to let them out now.
Emotions weren’t permitted in her family, which really wasn’t a family at all. A household consisting of a good girl and the most cruel villain known to the Shinobi villages was not her idea of family at all. He was worthless to her. But she was a tool, and was to be protected at all times so that she couldn’t be hurt. Because if she died, who else would be his weapon? She was the only one in the village who was stronger than Orochimaru himself, being his daughter and all. The next generation surpassed the first.
Anyway, if emotions or affection toward others were shown in her father’s presence, she never got away without a beating. Yet another reason for her to find a new life. She’s a human being, she needs to feel things. She isn’t a snake in a human’s body, only preparing for death and killing. She was prepared for love, friends and a real family.
So she hopped out of bed and rushed out the door, not bothering to be quiet in closing it this time. She sped toward the line that marked the border between the Land of Sound and the Land of Fire, looking for the only one who could help her now. Usually, he was there on border patrol when she needed him, like he could feel her pain from miles away and know when she was coming near. But he wasn’t there, and she cried.
---------------------------------------------------
And she wants to be a model
And she wants to hear she’s beautiful
She’s beautiful.
I want to save you
I want to save you
I need you
Save me too
I want to save you
