Alright. Here's my little speach about satsanism. Everyone hates satanism, right? OMG! THEY WORSHIP THE DEVIL! THEY SACRIFICE ANIMALS! THEY KIDNAP CHILDREN! right?
Wrong.
Satanism isn't a bad thing, well, in my eyes it isn't. They don't really worship satan. Well, they do in a way, but in a way they don't. It's kinda hard to explain. But they are definatley not what the media says they are. They don't sacrifice animals or kidnap children, in fact, they believe that children and animals are the purest form of life and they hold them sacred. Satanism isn't praising satan, it is anti-christian, I do admit, but satanism is about loving life. Most other religions are about going to paradise after you die, but satanism is about paradise on earth, having fun with your life. Now you're probably wondering how they don't worship satan, it's kinda hard to explain, I'm not even sure I fully understand it. They worship satan as like their guidelines, the religion itself, not an actual spiritual being. I guess that's the best way I can describe it. Most religions are about being a good little pupil and doing the right thing, satanism is about doing the smart thing, yet many of their rules still say that morally wrong things are... well... morally wrong. For example, one of the rules is not to harm animals except in self defense or for food. I am not a satanist, but I find religion to be a very interesting subject, and I especially like satanism because of its originality.

Personally, I think its just a religion made so people can be selfish and evil and not feel a single qualm about it. By convincing them it doesn't matter in the end. And to enjoy your own life, even if it means others won't be able to. Do you reject satin and all his works? Yes.
This could break into a fight, it's a veryy controversial topic, so can a staff member please lock this?

Yeah. I was a bit afraid that that might happen, I just had to express my views on satanism, as I think it's an interesting religion and that people look at it the worng way.

Satanics don't worship Satan, persay... Merely ideas. Keithnx.
And if he isn't able to express his ideas or view point on a religion, I don't think we should HAVE a religion thread or board because I don't believe in God. I think praying is idiotic and...just...none of it makes any sense.
The idea of God and the sects within the religion offend my belief system. And yet you can freely pray and have conversations.
So why can't Grassy?

Because so many people have pure undeniable hatred for satanism, therefore it could turn into a fight. Simple as that...

The only people who have a hatred for it are those who are Catholic/Christian. It is a religion, just as yours is. I say get over it.

simmer down here. FallenHope didn't say to delete the thread, she just said that it should be locked. I'm not going to lock it unless I see a problem, and I'm just telling you two to simmer down so a problem doesn't develop. Anyway, I just have to say that in Christianity, it's not solely about doing the right thing. See, when you accept Christ into your heart, and start developing a relationship with Him, you want to obey His word. The Bible says that it's not by works that we get to heaven, all it says is that you have to believe: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and whosoever believes in him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16 Think of the thief that was on the cross next to Jesus, he did horrible things his whole life and gained salvation because he believed: "One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."" Luke 23:40-43 I suppose that was a tad irrelevant, but I just wanted to point that out

Wow, that is weird. We were talking about things that take our eyes off God today in church. Poor poor people that do that. They are being fooled by the devil himself.

This is a very interesting thread. I am a Christian but I liked reading these different views. But just to let you know..Christianity doesn't mean you can't enjoy life here on Earth. God helps people with their every day problems and troubles but it's also Him who creates the joy and love we feel. God is bigger than it all, he can hold the univers, our Milky Way, in the palm of his hand. I wish I could find the youtube clip I watched in church one day. It was absolutly AMAZING. But yeah, I was really interested in this thread so I had to respond!

Well then while we're all sharing, I think everyone has their own right to believe whatever they wish! Heck, i'm a pagan who takes her own beliefs from aboriginal and wiccan ideas. I do not believe in a devil so in my mind it's hard to worship one o.o' XD But, the idea of enjoying your life is a good idea as long as you follow your own ideas and stay away from things that could hurt you D: .

ok, well, the way it is put, you could think of it from the other point of view. maybe satanist think that all christians are crazy cause we worship their version of the devil. and a certain belief of mine, relatively unrelated, but that is the key to world peace to me. understanding other's views and how they may perceive things. not having a one way mind. I am a christian. episcopalian. it is the english anglican church, just without the "pledge my allegiance to the king of england" my belief is very open, fresh, and free. i am not so narrow minded [not calling anyone here narrow minded] that i believe that christ is the only way for every person, you are evil if you dont believe in god. My own belief in god isnt really even straight forward. there is only so much in the bible i take straight through to my heart. but that is the beeauty of it all. i think that god wanted us to doubt. he wanted us to doubt what we think we truely believe and compare to what we are taught so that we may seek the answers to our questions and create a stronger faith in him and in others. because, if we simply go off of what other seek out and take their opinion, then have we really created our own individual relationship? im sorry, am i giving like a church lesson here? sorry. it is sunday on the east coast =] but yes... you have to doubt what you are told and seek your own answers to truly believe for me, the bible is simply their as a guide, kind of like a starters manual, to introduce you to it all and capture you, then to push you on your journey of faith. i think by questioning yourself, you can better understand others and their point of view, making relationshops with other people who arent the same as you easier. =]

Oddly, Satanism sounds like an interesting religion. But like...there is NO WAY I'm going Anti-Christian now lol xDD
I'm open to all beliefs, because I find them all interesting. I believe that it doesn't matter what your belief system was-you go to Heaven. You'll see God in the form of whoever was your God. For example, if you imagined God to be a beautiful light, you'd see Him like that, if you imagined Him as a Man, you'd see him like that. If you worshiped Buddha, God would gladly come into the form of Buddha.
I do not believe there is such thing as a "wrong" religion, in fact, most religions seem to have the the same roots-God.
Even Satanism can't be are wrong religion (and I cannot believe I'm actually saying this xDD). It talks about loving your life-okay, so I can't think of a Bible verse that says that. But God loves us very much, would he not want us to enjoy our life?
I'm Catholic, but my beliefs are different than the average...but I won't get into that xD Let's just say I don't believe everything in the Bible happened. [/size]

i think that god wanted us to doubt Okay, so I really like that you said that Anaxfly because I'm going through a rough time right now that I don't even know if God is real...and I was seriously a full christian before, and I don't really mean to change the topic away from satanism, but after I found out that my aunt has an aggressive breast cancer, I lost any hope for God to fix it. I just know that he's going to sit back like the rest of us and watch her slowly deteriorate for the estimated five years that the doctors gave her to live. So why read the bible, pray, or go to church anymore when everything always ends in disater anyway...I'm sorry it's just what i'm going through right now.

So why read the bible, pray, or go to church anymore when everything always ends in disater anyway...I'm sorry it's just what i'm going through right now. Well life is going to suck, it just DOES. I'm sorry about you aunt, my aunt has breast cancer too, there are a few reasons why things like this happen. One is that a lot of the time, when you go through something like this, in the future you can help someone else who is going through the same thing. Another is that when you go through tough situations, you learn to lean on God. There's a Christian band called Thousand Foot Crutch, because God is the ultimate crutch to lean on, he is strong and will "never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). The world will let you down and He wants you to rely on Him rather than relying on the world and getting hurt when it bails out on you. I personally take comfort in knowing that God takes care of me and no matter what, it is going to be okay. Because He promised that He will never abandon me, He has always been there, He is, and He always will be, which is also promised in the bible. I know that if I follow His plan, it'll be okay in the end even if like does suck for a while because I dunno about you but I would rather rely on someone who loves me no matter what and will never leave me, and can see all time, can see what trials there are ahead of me, than try to figure things out myself. And so far that's been working dandily for me so I plan to stick with Him Hope that helped, I tend to just rant, heh heh
